The Centre for Asia Pacific Technology Law & Policy is an interdisciplinary research centre founded to explore the challenges of new technologies on the development of law and policy so as to promote development of its role in in the Asia Pacific Economies.

July 2007 - The international conference on virtual worlds - STATE OF PLAY will be held in Singapore this year. Organised jointly with New York Law School, Havard's Berkman Centre, Yale Law School, Trinity University and CAPTEL and SIRC (Singapore Internet Research Centre) at NTU. It will be the fifth conference and this year's theme is Building the Global Metaverse held at Marina Mandarin Singapore. January 2007 - CAPTEL is pleased to announce the completion and launch of the online database of the IP Laws of Asia Pacific region - IPJURIS.net This online database is a free access cross searchable database to rare and previously inaccessible IP Laws. It includes several non-official translated versions of non English speaking jurisdictions.

July 7-9th 2004 - UNESCAP's Regional Expert Conference on Harmonized Development of Legal and Regulatory Systems for Electronic Commerce in Asia and the Pacific: Current Challenges and Capacity Building Needs has invited 6 CAPTEL associates namely, Profs Harry Tan, Toh See Kiat, Hong Xue, Pavan Duggal, Rajesh Sreenavisan and Goh Seow Hiong.
