STATE OF PLAY V - BUILDING THE GLOBAL METAVERSE.

CAPTEL will be hosting the State of Play conference in Singapore in August 2007. Organised jointly with New York Law School, Havard's Berkman Centre, Yale Law School, Trinity University and SIRC (Singapore Internet Research Centre) at NTU. It will be the fifth conference and this year's theme is Building the Global Metaverse held at Marina Mandarin Singapore.  RECENT EVENTS:

  Public Sector Data Protection Policy Training Programme 

Profs Harry SK Tan and Toh See Kiat will be conducting two half day seminars and a full day course on the new Public Sector Data Protection Policy designed for strictly for public sector workers. This course is organised by IDA and MOF which provides half funding for public sector workers who participate in this programme. The proposed training dates are: Half Day Seminars on 25th Ju 2003 and 26th September 2003 and Full Day course on 29th Aug 2003. To register for the course, download the form here. 

 

 

Intellectual Property and Legal Issues of E-Business - Public Seminar Series by Prof (Dr) Toh See Kiat

 

Prof Toh conducted a series of 2 day seminars on Intellectual Property and Legal Issues of Ebusiness at the Singapore Institute of Management. The following were the dates of these public seminars.

12th to 13th May, 2003 - The Legal Issues of E-Business

3rd to 4th April 2003 - Managing your Intellectual Property

18th to 19th November 2002 – The Legal Issues of E-Business

11th to 12th November 2002 – Managing your Intellectual Property

 

14th March 2003 - Professor Beth Noveck of New York Law School’s Democracy Design Workshop and Institute for Information Law & Policy was CAPTEL’s Visiting Professor under the Fulbright Senior Specialist Programme. She worked with CAPTEL Fellows for the whole duration of her 10 day visit and delivered the following presentations:

·        March 18th 2003 the CAPTEL FULBRIGHT PUBLIC LECTURE at IDA on The E-Government Revolution: From Consumers to Citizens. For more information and reservation, click here.

CAPTEL Seminar Series - The Regulation of SPAM

February 28th 2003 –  by Yee Fen Lim. Ms Lim from Macquarie University will be delivering the first CAPTEL seminar this year for the CAPTEL Seminar Series 2003. For more information click here.

 



  24th February 2003 - Presentation by Assoc Prof Harry SK Tan. Prof Tan will be delivering a public presentation at the Security Conference Summit 2003.                        A Primer on CyberLaws:
Developing e-Governance Policy and Regulatory Framework

20-21 November 2002 - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & InfoComm Development Authority and CAPTEL shall be conducting a closed-door seminar. CAPTEL Fellows shall be presenting papers to EASEAN national representatives, law and policy makers on the legal and policy issues arising from the development of E-Commerce initiatives.

Forum on Distributed Denial of Service Attacks: Technical & Legal Briefing
